Based in the heart of Crystal Palace, the Youth Dance Company offers a high-quality dance experience for young people to train, create and perform. During YDC classes, young people will develop their skills across contemporary, ballet and jazz techniques, build performance confidence and grow creatively. Perfect for those who would like to audition for CAT schemes in the future or those who just love to dance!

Suitable for dancers 12+.

Ania Straczynska - aniastraczynska.com

Teaching credits include: I-Star Academy, East London Dance School, DanceWest, Studio One Pilates & Movement, Sutton College, Gdansk Vocational Ballet School, East London Dance, The Place.

Ania is a choreographer and teacher. She graduated from Grazyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music (Poland) with a BA in Choreography and Dance Techniques and Medical University of Lodz with a BA in Physiotherapy. In 2014 she moved to London where she continued her training at Greenwich Dance Agency and The Place. In 2015 she graduated from a year programme with Future Innovators East London Dance. Since being in London, she has created work commissioned by The Place Theatre, Rose Theatre Kingston, Chisenhale Dance Space, P21 Gallery and Roehampton University (to name a few). She is a regular collaborator with the Architecture Association Interdisciplinary Studios. With AAIS, Ania co-choreographed and performed in the project “A Walk” at Concertico Festival in Logrono Spain and directed movement for “Even though we didn’t”. In 2019, Ania graduated with distinction from an MFA Choreography degree at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. She has been also involved with the Conservatoire as an associate choreographer working with 1st year students. Ania is an artistic member of Chisenhale Dance Space.

● Trinity Laban Financial Award for performance at Concertico festival (Spain)

Ania regularly works with Finnish photographer and architect Vesa Loikas. She is an author of one of the essays in his book INTERACTIONS.
